Global Engagement Partners
The University Teaching and Learning Commons (UTLC)
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is committed to excellence in teaching, service and engaging our world. In the global environment of the 21st century, our students are seeking innovative, engaged and applied opportunities that take them beyond the book and into real world problems in real time. Partnering with faculty and staff across UNCG's campus, the University Teaching & Learning Commons seeks to support globally engaged teaching through:
- Global Fellows - The University Teaching and Learning Commons' (UTLC's) 2014-15 Global Engagement Fellows are Chiaki Takagi and Yekaterina Colon. UTLC Global Fellows are passionate about making the UNCG experience more globally inclusive for students and teachers alike. Dr. Takagi says that "[her] expertise as a foreign language instructor as well as [her] experience as an international student and scholar will contribute to the university's missions of diversity and global engagement." Professor Colon is excited to "share and exchange ideas with other faculty members as well as offer [her] own knowledge and experience in international matters." Please join the UTLC Global Fellows in their commitment to enhance UNCG's intercultural competency in the classroom and the community.
- Workshops - There are several upcoming Global Engagement workshops in 2015, covering topics such as course development, global leadership, and how to assess students' intercultural competency. Global Engagement workshops are the best place for teachers to learn everything they need to know in order to enhance their student's understanding of a dynamic global environment. Please join the UTLC Global Fellows as they show us how to be leaders in global engagement.
- Global Engagement Summer Institute - The Global Engagement Summer Institute will be held the week of May 11, 2015. More details are forthcoming.
